Our aim is to help you put in place a solid, daily stretching habit - for life! It doesn’t have to be a lot. What’s more important is consistency. Even ten minutes a day will help keep you moving pain free. We’re here to give you tips and tricks for forging a strong life-long stretching habit, and sharing some of our favourite and most effective stretches.
A few commonly asked questions about our classes:
Will it be fun? More fun than doing your taxes, but also not a regulatory requirement. Less fun than sitting at home watching Netflix and eating chocolate, but also WAY better for you. We’re always up for a chat while we stretch as well to help the time pass.
Will there be homework? Why yes there will, we’re glad you asked. Because, my friend, you need to stretch every day. That’s the bad news. The good news is that even five to ten minutes of stretching a day will see your body singing like a bushland creature in a Disney movie. Stretching will set you free.
Will we learn the splits or backbends? Our classes are focused on maintaining and increasing mobility. If you stretch regularly with us, and at home, you will absolutely gain flexibility, but in no way do we work on splits or backbends. Instead, we focus on your own personal and realistic mobility and flexibility improvements. For example, if you can’t touch your toes with your legs straight today, imagine if you stretched for ten minutes every day and in a year you could place your palms on the ground?
Will we align our chakras? No.
Will we chant? Also, no.
Will we manifest our deepest desires? Look, to be honest we don’t mind what you think about while you stretch. Sure, plot your devious plan for world domination, write your shopping list, plan what you’re going to wear to work tomorrow. Fill your boots as long as you’re doing the stretches while your mind wanders.
What should I wear? Something comfortable that you can move easily in. Sports clothes, leggings, tracksuits are all ideal. You get the best results if you stretch without shoes on, so socks or barefeet is perfect (obviously, you can wear shoes to get to class. Is that obvious?)
What should I bring? We supply mats and any equipment required for stretching. You can bring a water bottle if you think you might get thirsty, up to you. You can also bring your own mat if you’d prefer to use your own rather than one of ours.
