Some tips for forming a stretching habit:

  • Keep your Stretch Club card somewhere visible so it is an obvious reminder to do your stretching each day.

  • Five minutes stretching a day is great to start your habit. If you do five minutes stretching a day, six days a week, and come to a 30-minute class, you will have done an hour of stretching that week. If you don’t already have a stretching habit, that’s an hour of stretching you’ve just added to your life for a five minute a day investment.

  • If you can’t do five minutes, do two minutes. Or one minute. Just aim to get something on your card every day, and we can work from that benchmark.

  • It can help to choose a regular time each day to stretch. For example, I aim to do three minutes stretching in the kitchen first thing every morning while I’m waiting for the kettle to boil (because, coffee!).
